Good-bye Utah, hello Denver

If you haven't already heard, yes, we have moved to Denver. Mike got a job as IT support for Tuff Shed. It's basically what he was doing at Caselle, but with more money. We are currently living with Mike's parents until we find a place of our own.

The move over was very stressful. It took us forever to get our old place cleaned and the U-Haul packed. We were exhausted and have been exhausted ever since. If you ever have to move, I would recommend paying the extra money to have someone else move you-it's such a pain to do it yourself. It didn't help with our huge issues with the storage place. I got everything signed and ready to go to move our stuff in our storage unit. The problem was that the employee who signed me up didn't tell me that I had to have my own lock on before they closed that night at 6pm. We arrived with the U-Haul and several people from our new ward to unload everything at 7pm only to find that someone had put a lock on our unit and we couldn't get in. We tried getting a hold of a manager, but couldn't get anyone to help us get the lock off. The next morning I found out that each night, they check all the units to make sure they have a lock on or they put one on for you. That really would have been nice to know. We tried to get the Elders' Quorum to help again, but they had meetings, so Mike and I set out to move our stuff ourselves. Our prayers were answered when a guy dropping off his stuff offered to help. He and Mike got all the big stuff moved in. We called him our angel of mercy, because with me pregnant, I couldn't do any of the big stuff. After that, the Elders' Quorum finally showed up (only because Mike's Mom called the bishop to complain) and they helped with everything else. We were grateful to everyone who helped-we couldn't have done it by ourselves.

We are all adjusting pretty well-it was hard to get use to the change in altitude, but we're surviving. Mike likes his new job and is catching on quickly. Amaia is adjusting well and is having fun being spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa.

We had a fun evening Sunday visiting my brother, Jer and his family. They are all so cute and Amaia especially loved playing with her cousin, Emma.

So, that's it for now. Here's to our new home and beginning of a new chapter in our lives.

Love y'all

Oh-please forgive me for not calling people. I have been crazy-busy, but will try and set aside time to talk to my dear ones. In the meantime, I hope everyone is well and happy.

-Kristen

I'm just glad to hear that you're okay- I know how you feel about the moving, in every way- Brian and I had to move our stuff out of our truck entirely alone, and we almost didn't finish, we were that exhausted, not to mention that they kept us working until our vacation, and then our vacation was pretty much harder than working, all in all, and then as soon as we got back, we have been working non-stop-
I'm pretty much ready to fall apart myself- so I definitely hear ya!
anyway- I love you, miss you all, and i'm glad you're close to jer now-
I hope you can be there for each other as you get settled in, or whenever, you know-
miss you
love you all
